Beautibly

Introduction

Beautibly is a social way for beauty professionals and local customers to connect by following local artists, finding new inspiration and easily booking appointments.

Problem Statement: Traditional social media is an ineffective way for local beauty artist to connect with new customers. They end up being drown in the sea of feeds and their work is lost unless they are willing to pay.

Objective: Design a beauty focused app that puts a spin on traditional booking apps by adding the social scroll feed allowing for engaging content that gets customers excited to work with beauty artists.

Research & Insights

1. Users value simplicity and ease of use when it comes to booking appointments.
2. Users where more likely to stick with beauty artist they were familiar with but were willing to change based on visuals they found appealing.
3. Beauty artist liked the functionality and features of tradition social media apps.
4. Being able to have repeating appointments with an artist was a key feature.

Design Process

1. Moodboard: Provide options of how the brand tone and look can be and the pros and cons of doing each.
2. Brand Visual Design: Create a logo, color palette, and basic style guide for the app that can also be used elsewhere.
3. Wireframing & Prototyping: Developed wireframes to visualize app structure and iteratively prototyped key features for user testing.
4. Visual Design: Created a clean and visually appealing interface with intuitive navigation, leveraging a style based on earthy make up tones.
5. Feature Development: Implemented core features like discover new artist and easy appointment booking.
6. Testing & Optimization: Conducted thorough testing and gathered feedback for continuous improvement.
